The Patrol Section Commander is Assistant Chief Cedric Anderson. His office is located in the Police Building, 141 N. Ross Street. He may be contacted at (334) 501-3150. He is assisted by Lieutenants Matt Coffey, Jude Hackett, Daniel Humphries, and Joseph Morris. The Patrol Section is staffed by approximately 80 officers and is responsible for patrolling neighborhoods, residential and business areas, and the campus of Auburn University.

The Patrol Section's police vehicles utilize mobile computing. Motorcycles, bicycles, and motorized electric vehicles are also used to patrol the police jurisdiction of the City of Auburn and the campus of Auburn University.

The Patrol Section coordinates and provides staff for functions requiring police security, including university sporting events, school functions, and private events. Those requesting these services or requesting to speak with a specific officer should do so by calling (334) 501-3150.

The Patrol Section also staffs a traffic unit dedicated to addressing traffic concerns in residential areas, business districts, and school zones. Those with traffic concerns and requests for extra patrol should contact the Patrol Secretary at (334) 501-3150.

In addition to the Patrol Section, Assistant Chief Anderson is responsible for managing the Narcotics Detective Section of the Police Division. He is assisted by Captain Scott Mingus in this endeavor.
