The Yarbrough Tennis Center is a public facility where anyone can play for the following fees: $3/person hard court, $5/person clay court and $10/person indoor court. Memberships are also available that allow you to reserve courts and play without a fee.

Registration

All memberships, clinic registrations and private tennis lesson payments are done through Parks and Recreation's MyRec registration system at auburnal.myrec.com.

Group Clinics

Group city clinics are available for all levels. Children's clinics run Monday through Thursday afternoons and are designed for beginners. If your child is progressing and enjoys tennis, we have intermediate private group classes. Group clinics for adults are available in the mornings and at 6:30 p.m. If you have questions regarding levels, email Francois Bosman.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are available with six different tennis pros. They typically cost about $60/hour. If you have a group, the costs can be split. Lesson requests may be made through MyRec. You will be matched with an instructor based on your availability.

Playing Opportunities

USTA Leagues

We have leagues for 2.5 (beginner) to 4.5 players. Men usually play on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., and women usually play on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Some Saturday leagues are also available. To sign up, you will need a USTA membership and a rating. Email Sarah Hill or Kevin Fitchner for information about signing up or getting a USTA membership and a rating.

Singles Ladder

The Singles Ladder runs March through November and is open to all levels of players. Participation is free for Yarbrough Tennis Center members and $20 (plus court fees) for non-members. You’ll be assigned a match once a week, and you will set up your own time to play. We also have a challenge ladder where you can challenge multiple people in the same week.

Free Play

Want to find players your level to just play? Email Sarah Hill and include your level of play, singles/ doubles preference and time of day preference.

Children's Play Opportunities

All kids matches are done through USTA. Membership is free for kids.

Junior Team Tennis is our children's league. During the season, participants will play matches against other kids of similar skill levels. There will also be opportunities to play on a team and compete in a championship (beginner, intermediate and advanced teams).

Beginner to advanced Junior Tournaments are available for ages 12-18. Email Melissa Shaver or sign up for our eNotifier Tennis Newsletter to learn about upcoming tournament opportunities.
