Auburn, Ala. - Join Auburn Parks and Recreation as we send summer out in style at the 4th Annual Farewell Summer Block Party, sponsored by Chick-fil-A on Magnolia Avenue, on Friday, Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. at Town Creek Park. In addition to tunes from a surprise musical act, attendees can purchase food on-site from Chick-fil-A, enter for a chance to win door prizes, pick up coupons and sales tax holiday weekend specials, and sit back and watch the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap on our large, inflatable outdoor movie screen.
Are you an Auburn merchant or restaurant with back to school specials or promotions for the sales tax holiday weekend? If so, Auburn Parks and Recreation wants to hear from you! Bring your back to school, sales tax holiday weekend coupons or specials to the Harris Center, 425 Perry Street, by Wednesday, July 24 at 5 p.m. and we'll take care of distributing them. Merchants must supply a minimum of 200 coupons, specials, giveaways, or flyers that have been copied, cut, and are ready to be stuffed in goody bags. Bags will be distributed to the first 200 attendees at the Farewell Summer Block Party. Limit, one bag per family. Door prizes are also welcome. Participating merchants must have a current City of Auburn business license. As a reminder, Alabama's Sales Tax Holiday Weekend will be held Friday, Aug. 2 - Sunday, Aug. 4.
