Note: The library DOES NOT assign a value to any donated items for tax purposes.
What will happen with my donation?
Depending on the item and it's condition, your donation may be added to the library collection, used in the Friends' Book Sale, donated to Better World Books, or recycled.
The library reserves the right to accept, dispense, or discard, at its discretion, any donated items.
When & where do I bring my donation?
If possible, please bring any non monetary donations between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
The easiest place to drop off your donation is the loading dock on the McKinley Avenue side of the library. Please ring the doorbell to the right of the glass double doors.
Please bring your donation in small to medium sized boxes.
Memorial & Honorary Donations
APL will accept monetary donations to purchase materials in memory or in honor of a particular individual.
The selection of materials purchased with these donations will be coordinated with the donor and/or the individual in whose honor the donation is given and/or the family of the individual in whose memory the donation is given, but must be in accordance with the library's Collection Management Plan.
All items purchased with your donation will receive a dedication bookplate inside the front cover.
Other Monetary Gifts
All other monetary gifts are accepted through the Friends of the Auburn Public Library. The Library Board, in consultation with the Library Director, reserves the right to accept or deny any gift of donation.
