With 30 candidates vying for eight spots on the Auburn City Council, Auburn residents will head to the polls on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, to elect a new mayor and Auburn City Council representatives for the 2018–2022 term. A sample ballot is available to view candidates for mayor and each contested ward.

Runoff Elections

A runoff election is required if no candidate receives a majority of the votes, or 50 percent of the votes plus one, in a general municipal election. If more than two candidates are running for the same office and no single candidate receives more than 50 percent of the votes, the top two candidates in the general election will go on to the runoff election.
