Auburn residents voted for five seats on the Auburn City Council, including mayor, during a runoff election on Oct. 9, 2018.
A runoff election is required if no candidate receives a majority of the votes, or 50 percent of the votes plus one, in a general municipal election. Since more than two candidates ran for mayor, Ward 2, Ward 4, Ward 5 and Ward 6, and since no single candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes, the top two candidates from the general election will go on to the runoff election.
