The Water Revenue Office is in the Bailey-Alexander Water & Sewer Complex at 1501 W. Samford Ave.
Office hours for the Water Revenue Office are 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.
The cost to initiate water service is $90 ($75 refundable deposit plus $15 non-refundable service charge).
The $75 deposit can be waived by providing us with a reference letter from any former utility; at the time service is requested. The
letter must reflect an excellent payment history for the past 24 months and be in the applicant's name.
Water bills are due in the Water Revenue Office by 4:30 p.m. on the 15th of the month. A late fee of 5% is added if payment is late.
Partial payments, including multiple checks to pay on one account, are not accepted.
Multiple check payments and partial payments will be returned to the customer.
The service charge for returned checks is $30 or the highest amount set by law.
The Water Board offers customers the convenience of having their monthly utility bill (water, sewer and garbage collection services)
paid by automatic bank draft. Please call 334-501-3050 for more information about this payment option. The Water Revenue staff will be
happy to send you the form that customers need to complete and sign.
Delinquent accounts turn-off takes place after the 20th of the month. If an account is not paid in full before the day of turn-off, a
cut-off/set-up fee of $50 will be assessed plus a $75 deposit if deposit was initially waived.
Effective July 1, 2004- The Water Works Board will no longer accept personal checks when service has been interrupted due to
nonpayment. Cash, money order, or certified check will be the only acceptable method of payment to restore services interrupted for
nonpayment.
Please let us know when you are moving and your forwarding address.
The City offers residential customers in some locations the option of either back yard pick-up ($24.50 per month and customer provides
containers) or curb pick-up ($17.00 per month and City provides one roll-out container). In some areas, curb pick-up is required. Please
call the Environmental Services Department at 501-3080 to find out the type(s) of service available in your neighborhood and the pick-up
day of the week for your street.
The Auburn Water Works Board is here to serve our customers. Please tell us how we can improve our service to you.
