Northside WPCF Phase II Improvements Project: Improvements will consist of the construction of two new pump stations (Northside transfer pumpstation and the Choctafaula pumpstation), rehabilitation of the existing Northside WPCF influent pumpstation, replacement of existing clarifier drives at the Northside WPCF, replacement of the existing motor control centers (MCCs), installation of a new generator and transformer to power all process equipment at the Northside WPCF and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) telemetry equipment at both pumpstation sites.
Choctafaula: Contractor continues with electrical gear installation and pulling wire in electrical building. Transformer has been set by Dixie Power.

Town Creek Park Stream Restoration Project: Town Creek Park, The City of Auburn, the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service, and a local land developer are currently working on a joint venture Priority 1 stream restoration project located within Town Creek City of Auburn owned and operated recreational park. This project will result in approximately 1,184 linear feet of restored stream channel, approximately three acres of restored floodplain, and construction of four bio-engineered wetlands. Funding for this project is provided through EPA 104 (b) and ADEM 319 grants, with in-kind match provided by the partners involved. A series of four educational workshops will also be hosted in conjunction with this project. Vegetation has arrived and planting has begun! The fourth and final workshop, Vegetation for Stream Restoration, was hosted on February 27-28. Also, the Auburn Rotary Club and the Auburn Greenspace Advisory Board hosted a volunteer planting day on March 1st. The Auburn Rotary Club also announced that they were awarded a $1,000 grant to implement educational kiosks and signage for this project.

Timberwood Gravity Sewer Extension: This project consists of constructing approximately 6,200 feet of new 30-36 inch diameter gravity sewer main extending from the terminus of the Choctafaula Force Main through the Timberwood Subdivision to the H.C. Morgan Water Pollution Control Facility on Sandhill Road. Wilhite Enterprises has completed the entire 6,200 LF of the new gravity sewer system. The only remaining work to be completed on this contract is the stream bank stabilization scheduled to be completed this winter with dormant vegetation. A final walk through will be scheduled once the remaining work has been completed.

Saugahatchee Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) Rehabilitation Project: This project consists of 18,150 linear feet of 30" sanitary sewer CIPP rehabilitation, 780 vertical feet of manhole rehabilitation, raising 47 existing manholes and point repairs as necessary on the Saugahatchee Sewer Interceptor. This interceptor is the primary sewer line to convey flow from the north side of Auburn to the City's Northside Water Pollution Control Facility. This project will address existing inflow and infiltration problems in this sewer line. Reynolds Inliner, LLC, was the lowest responsible bidder for the project. The Notice to Proceed for this project was issued on March 15, 2008 and the expected completion date is January 10, 2009.
Contractor has completed CIPP ling work and cementitious manhole rehabilitation has been completed. Contractor raised four manholes on the Willow Creek Outfall. Contractor continues with site restoration and demobilization.

Northside Transfer Force Main: This project consists of approximately 10,500 feet of 18-inch diameter ductile iron force main extending from the Northside Transfer Pump Station at the Northside Water Pollution Control Facility to the existing N-5 Force Main on Highway 14.Strack, Inc. has commenced clearing the easement utilizing a forestry mulching machine and will begin installing the force main on Monday, December 1, 2008.

Mall Outfall Sanitary Sewer Evaluation: This project consists of closed circuit television (CCTV) inspection, cleaning, pipe condition assessment, and root control treatment of approximately 14,600 linear feet of 12-inch to 15-inch gravity sewer line. This project was awarded by City Council to Compliance Envirosystems (CES), LLC. on October 7, 2008. The Notice to Proceed for this project was issued on November 3, 2008 and the expected completion date is November 15, 2008.
Contractor has completed CCTV inspection and cleaning the gravity sewer. Contractor is preparing pipeline condition assessment report which will outline recommended improvements and areas for root control treatment.
