
The City of Auburn has enacted several ordinances that deal with trees and other landscaping issues.
Municipal Tree Ordinance (City Ordinance #1875)
The Municipal Tree Ordinance recognizes the value of urban trees and deals with
tree maintenance and protection. It also provides guidelines for the
removal, relocation, alteration, planting, and replacement of trees on or near
public property, as well as establishing the duties of the Tree Commission.

Zoning Ordinance
The purpose of the Zoning Ordinance (as it relates to the Tree Commission) is to
cover tree planting requirements for development and redevelopment on commercial
and residential property. Most of the regulations that cover landscaping
and trees are contained in Articles VII and VIII.
