Auburn, Ala. - Portions of the Frank Brown Recreation Center (FBRC), including the fitness area, racquetball courts, and back restrooms, will be closed to the public Wednesday, May 15 - Friday, May 17 for construction work. Classes and programs held in the classroom area of the building will proceed as scheduled. The areas closed during construction will reopen on Saturday, May 18.
In January 2012, Auburn voters approved a package of public improvement projects as part of the Special Five Mill Tax Referendum. The project includes Phase II of reconstruction at the Frank Brown Recreation Center, allowing for additional classroom space, a conference room for meetings and seminars, facade improvements, a new racquetball court, and parking improvements. Construction at the FBRC is expected to be completed by the end of summer.
