Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn Arts Association (AAA) has announced the winners of the 2012 Photo XIV Juried Exhibition, hosted by the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (JDCAC). The award recipients were announced at a reception on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the JDCAC. This year's exhibition features 40 works by 33 regional artists selected for display. Works range from digital prints and digitally enhanced photographs to traditional black-and-white and color prints.
The jurors of selection and awards were Kyle Braund, artist and Professor Emeritus of Auburn University, and Charles Hemard, Associate Professor of Photography at Auburn University. After careful deliberation, the jurors chose 10 merit award winners: Mindy Burgess, Susan Braden, Justin Cardova, Enrique DuPrat, Leigh Hudon, Anna Krista, Claudia Mann, Frank Uhlig, and Jackie Webber. Each received a $100 award from the Auburn Arts Association. In addition, juror mentions were received by Saramia Arenas, Jennifer Brown, Laura Kloberg and Tricia Oliver.
The public is encouraged to view this unique photography collection at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center through Friday, Nov. 16. The gallery is free and open to the public Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
