Auburn, Ala. - Artists, friends, and family celebrated the works of the Auburn CityFest Juried Art Show winners on Friday, April 27 at a reception held at the Historic Nunn-Winston House in Kiesel Park. Sponsored by the Auburn Arts Association, Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau, Earth Fare, and the City of Auburn, the exhibition showcased a variety of unique works by regional artists working in fine art mediums such as works on paper, three-dimensional (ceramics/sculpture), mixed-media, and photography.
Guests enjoyed an evening of live musical entertainment by singer/songwriter Destiny Brown, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and browsing through the large collection of fine art selected for the Juried Art Exhibition. Winners were announced at the reception, offering guests the opportunity to view and purchase works by the winners after the awards were presented.
Winners announced at the reception included Shelley Laband and Emily Quinn, winners of two $250 Merit Awards presented by the Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau and Teresa Rodriguez, winner of the $150 City of Auburn CityFest Merit Award. Winners of the Auburn Arts Association Merit Awards included Adrian Alsobrook, Maria Aaud, Kyle Braund, Lauren Graves, Matthew McMahan, Dick Millman, Julie Plasketes, Iain Stewart, Deborah Strawn and Ethel Vaughn.
The Auburn CityFest Juried Art Show and Preview Reception is held in collaboration with Auburn CityFest each year.
