Auburn, Ala. - Calling all artists! Don't miss your chance to be a part of the 2014 Auburn CityFest Juried Art Show, held in conjunction with Auburn CityFest. The show, sponsored by the Auburn Arts Association, the Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau, Earth Fare, Jim ‘N Nick's Bar-B-Q, Gigi’s Cupcakes, and the City of Auburn, will feature a variety of works by regional artists working in fine art mediums such as painting, three-dimensional (ceramics/sculpture), mixed-media and photography. Works will be displayed in the historic Nunn-Winston House at Kiesel Park during Auburn CityFest on Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Artists 18 years of age and older who are located in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida and Tennessee are encouraged to enter the show. Artists may submit one work in the medium of their choice. Up to $1,200 in merit awards will be awarded, including two $250 Special Awards presented by the Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau.
A preview reception honoring the artists will be held on Thursday, April 24 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the historic Nunn-Winston House at Kiesel Park. Awards will be announced at the reception. The preview reception is free and open to the public. Works will be for sale. No commission will be charged from the sale.
Download a Juried Art Show application at www.auburncityfest.com. A $25 entry fee is due at the time of submission. Fees are waived with a paid Auburn CityFest vendor spot. The deadline for entry forms and fees is Wednesday, April 16. Works are due at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (JDCAC) by Monday, April 21.
