Cumberland Plastic Systems, LLC Announces Plans to Expand Production
Company to Add 51 New Employees over the Next Two Years
Auburn, Ala. - Cumberland Plastic Systems, LLC has announced plans to expand production at its existing facility on Teague Court in the Auburn Industrial Park. The expansion calls for new production lines and the addition of 51 new employees over the next two years. Company officials expect to make a capital investment totaling $1.9 million once the expansion is complete.
Cumberland first announced its plans to locate in Auburn in February 2006. The company is a solution provider in engineering, program management, injection molding, and the assembly of plastic components for automotive manufacturers such as Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, VW, and BMW. Additional production lines are needed to fill orders as production at the Kia plant in West Point, GA prepares to come online.
Mayor Bill Ham, Jr. commented, "Over the last three years, Cumberland Plastic Systems has become an important part of the Auburn industrial family. It is always rewarding to see a company that has located here decide to expand its operations. The fact that this is our third industry expansion announcement in the last two weeks tells me we are doing something right with the companies we are recruiting. We congratulate Cumberland on their expansion and look forward to working with them for many years to come."
Company officials expect to begin hiring on July 15. Individuals interested in job opportunities with the company are encouraged to contact the Alabama Career Center's Auburn-Opelika Office at (334) 749-5704 or email their resume to
