Portions of West Glenn Avenue and Donahue Drive Closed June 24Auburn, Ala. - Alabama Power Company will close portions of West Glenn
Avenue and Donahue Drive on Tuesday, June 24 while crews relocate power poles
and transmission lines. Work will begin at 7 a.m. and is expected to be
completed by 3 p.m. In the event of rain, work will be delayed until
Wednesday, July 2. The following portions of road will be closed:
Portion of West Glenn Avenue
Cox Street to Hemlock Drive
(work will end just west of Peachtree Apartments)
Portion of Donahue Drive
Martin Luther King Drive to Magnolia Avenue
(both Martin Luther King Drive and Magnolia Avenue will
remain open)
Work schedules and road closings are subject to change due to inclement weather. Citizens are encouraged to visit the City of Auburn's website at www.auburnalabama.org to view the latest news on street closings so they may adjust their routes accordingly.
This work is associated with the AL Highway 14 realignment, which includes widening Donahue Drive from Glenn Avenue to Bragg Avenue and rerouting Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to align with Bragg Avenue. Improvements will also be made at the intersection of Glenn Avenue and Donahue Drive to add protected left turn movements.
