Portion of Harper Avenue to Close Wednesday, April 30

Auburn, Ala. - The City of Auburn received notice from Alabama Power Company that the portion of Harper Avenue between Summerhill Road and Dean Road will be closed on Wednesday, April 30 beginning at 5:30 a.m. Crews will be working to relocate power poles as the City prepares for the Dean Road-Harper Avenue Intersection Improvement Project. The road is expected to re-open Wednesday afternoon by 5 p.m.

The Dean Road-Harper Avenue Intersection Project consists of adding a center left turn lane at the intersection. Improvements will also be made to better align the road at the intersection and allow for a wider turn radius. In addition, Dean Road will be resurfaced from Glenn Avenue to Opelika Road.

Citizens are encouraged to visit the City of Auburn's website at www.auburnalabama.org to view the latest news on street closings so they may adjust their routes accordingly.
