The City of Auburn demonstrated its commitment to technology in May 1996 with the formation of the Department of Information Technology. This was the first step in the process of developing an Information Technology Strategy for the City. The Department continues toward the goal of establishing the reputation of Auburn as a Connected Community in order to reflect Auburn's cooperative spirit and its commitment to encouraging the electronic exchange of information and ideas.
