2014 Municipal Election

Auburn residents in Ward 1 (District 1, Post 1), Ward 3 (District 2, Post 1), Ward 5 (District 3, Post 1) and Ward 6 (District 3, Post 2) will go to the polls on Tuesday, August 26th to elect their representative on the City Council for the 2014 – 2018 City Council term.

Since there is no opposition in the Mayor’s race or the races for Ward 2, Ward 4, Ward 7 or Ward 8, there will be no election held in those wards.

The polls will be open at the following locations from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 26, 2014: 

Ward 1 (District 1, Post 1) - Boykin Center Gymnasium (400 Boykin Street)

Ward 3 (District 2, Post 1) - Frank Brown Recreation Center (235 Opelika Road)

Ward 5 (District 3, Post 1) - Dean Road Recreation Center (307 South Dean Road)

Ward 6 (District 3, Post 2) - Dean Road Recreation Center (307 South Dean Road)

Absentee Box - Auburn City Hall (144 Tichenor Avenue)

As unopposed candidates, Auburn Mayor Bill Ham, Jr., Ward 2 Councilperson Ron Anders, Ward 4 Councilperson Brent Beard, Ward 7 Councilperson Gene Dulaney and Ward 8’s new Councilperson, former Police Chief Tommy Dawson, were elected by Council resolution and presented certificates of election at the August 5th Council meeting. Their oath of office ceremony will take place along with the rest of the newly elected City Council on Monday, November 3, 2014.

The last day to register to vote is August 15, 2014.

Absentee ballot applications will be accepted July 1st through August 21st and absentee ballots must be returned by 5:00 p.m. on August 25, 2014.
