The City's investment in industrial development has produced over 5,000 jobs in manufacturing and over $650 million in capital investment since 1975. A large portion of growth in manufacturing has taken place in the past 16 years with the development of three technology parks.
The Workforce Development Division of Economic Development provides innovative job specific training programs for area industry and Auburn High School students through the Auburn Training Connection (ATC). The Workforce Development Division also operates the Auburn Center for Developing Industries (ACDI), the City's small business incubator.
Community Development efforts are directed at aiding low to moderate income citizens through a variety of programs such as the Affordable Housing Program and mortgage subsidies from the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF). The RLF is also used to promote quality commercial projects that improve the City's tax base and create jobs for Auburn citizens. The Economic Development Department has been involved in over 50 commercial projects.
