Auburn received a BRONZE MEDAL from The League of American Bicyclists
The City of Auburn is well on its way to becoming a Bicycle Friendly Community. In coordination with the League of American Bicyclists,
the City has been awarded a bronze medal in the Bicycle Friendly Communities Campaign. This campaign is an awards program with the
purpose of formally acknowledging municipalities that earnestly support bicycling. A Bicycle Friendly Community is one that provides
safe accommodation for cyclists and at the same time encourages its inhabitants to bike for transportation, as well as enjoyment.
Sixty-four communities around the U.S. were recognized as award winners. There were
seven Gold-level award winners, twelve Silver-level awards and
forty-four bronze-level awards. Davis, California was granted the platinum-level designation. Auburn is proud to be recognized as a
Bronze-level Community along with forty-three other communities across the
United States. Auburn will continue its progress for bicycling improvements to achieve a higher recognition next
year.
