SummerNight Downtown Art Walk
 

 

The Auburn Arts Association, City of Auburn, Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center and Downtown Auburn Merchants will host SummerNight 2009 Friday, June 19 from 6 - 9:30 p.m. in downtown Auburn. This annual event is for local artists and musicians to display their talents, while offering the community a chance to enjoy an evening in the downtown area.

Downtown merchants and restaurants will remain open after regular business hours. Citizens are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and shop, dine and enjoy the downtown atmosphere. Local artists will have their work on display and local musicians will entertain the public. Below is the detailed entertainment schedule.

Main Stage (Located on Toomers Corner)
Todd Vickery 6 - 6:30 p.m.
The Alabama Gravy Soppers 6:30 - 6:45 p.m.
Children's Parade 6:45 - 7 p.m.
The Alabama Gravy Soppers 7 - 7:45 p.m.
The Robert Orr Band 7:45 - 9:30 p.m.

Additional Stage (Located in front of Tichenor Avenue)
John Peterson 6 - 6:30 p.m.
Culturetainment 6:30 - 7:15 p.m.

SummerNight will also include a scavenger hunt, food specials and children's activities earlier in the evening with a parade including the Alabama Gravy Soppers and Aubie. College Street from Thach Avenue to Tichenor Avenue and Magnolia Avenue from Wright Street to Gay Street will be closed to vehicular traffic on Friday, June 19 from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center Celebrates 10 Years

 

 

Join the City of Auburn as we celebrate 10 years of the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center on Thursday, July 30.  Stop by the Arts Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to see special displays highlighting a decade of community partnerships involving art education programming, art exhibitions, theatre, and dance.  A reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.  This event is free and open to the public.  Join us as we celebrate the past and look to the future of our educational programs, performances and events at JDCAC.
