Auburn CityKids
Auburn CityKids is a community based program that focuses on the arts. The program offers children the opportunity to learn in a fun and
comfortable environment as well as develop meaningful relationships with peers and mentors. The program was created by Chichi Lovett, a
Professor of Art at Auburn University, and Joanne Blackmon, Special Services Director of Auburn Housing Authority, to expose at risk
children to the arts. The program continues to grow and develop as more members of the community get involved. Professor Lovett's art
education students help run the program by providing one on one art activities for the children. The program has many volunteers that
range from parents to AU football players.
Auburn CityKids is held on select Mondays from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center.
Volunteers are always welcome! Call the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center at 501-2963

Auburn CityKids is sponsored by the Auburn Arts Association, Auburn Parks and Recreation, Auburn University and the Auburn Housing
Authority. Auburn CityKids business sponsors include Auburn Ballet,
