Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn Police Division (APD) will participate in three neighborhood events on Tuesday, August 6 in recognition of National Night Out, “America’s night out against crime.” This annual event is an opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the community and police towards the common goals of reducing crime and drugs through awareness, community involvement and law enforcement visibility. This is the Auburn Police Division's fourth year to participate in the National Night Out.
Neighborhood events will highlight crime prevention programs available to residents including neighborhood watch, residential security surveys, and the house check program. National Night Out events will take place at the following locations in Auburn on Tuesday, August 6:
In partnership with the Auburn Housing Authority, the Ridgecrest event will feature family-friendly activities including food, games and giveaways for children and parents that are public housing residents.
National Night Out began in 1984 and has expanded throughout the nation each year to encompass more than 15,000 communities.
