Auburn, Ala. - The City of Auburn, Auburn Arts Association, and Auburn Downtown Merchant Association would like to thank everyone who participated in the inaugural Pie Bake-Off as part of the 7th Annual SummerNight Downtown Art Walk. The event was a huge success with over 20 pies submitted! The SummerNight committee looks forward to making this event part of the Art Walk each year.

Special thanks to Father John Warren Wells and Eric Stamp for serving as judges for the contest. Their job was not an easy one, and the SummerNight committee is grateful for their willingness to determine the winners. Congratulations to Amy Wood for taking 1st Place for her “Over the Top Sweet Potato Pie.” Second and 3rd place went to Georgia Aycock for her “Coconut Cream Pie” and “Homemade Blueberry Pie,” respectively. Honorable mentions went to Anna Gatlin Ruth (“Bumble Crumble Pie”), Charlene Redick (“Apple Pie”), and Katherine Pickett (“Chocolate Pie”).
Proceeds from the pie entries and pie sales benefitted the Auburn Arts Association, a local, non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting arts education and fostering community interest and participation in the arts.
