Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn Cemetery Trust is pleased to announce improvements to the flag pole area at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1000 E Samford Ave. These improvements, made possible through private contributions, include a new flag pole, lighting, landscaping, and a stone wall seating area. The improvements were the first of their kind in this area of the cemetery since its opening in 1948.
Established in 1997, the Auburn Cemetery Trust (ACT) is a group of citizens dedicated to raising awareness and funds for projects and improvements at Auburn's cemeteries. Working under the guidance of, and in cooperation with, Auburn Parks and Recreation, the Trust works to improve, restore, and preserve Auburn cemeteries for future generations.
Citizens, civic groups, and businesses may support the Trust through tax deductible contributions. All funds raised support capital improvement projects at Auburn cemeteries. Families may choose to honor the passing of loved ones through donations to the trust in lieu of flowers. Checks may be made payable to the Auburn Cemetery Trust and delivered or mailed to:
