Auburn, Ala. - Artists, friends, and members of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce celebrated the works of the Auburn CityFest Juried Art Show artists on Thursday, April 25 at a reception held at the Historic Nunn-Winston House at Kiesel Park. Sponsored by the Auburn Arts Association, the Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau, Earth Fare, and the City of Auburn, the exhibition showcased a variety of unique works by area artists working in fine art mediums such as works on paper, paintings, ceramics, sculpture, prints and photography. The reception, an Auburn Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event, was open to the public.
Patrons enjoyed a spring evening in the gardens of Kiesel Park with food by Wilton’s Catering, music by Wynn Christian, and a selection of fine art at the Juried Art Exhibition. Winners were announced at the reception, and guests had the chance to view the exhibition after the awards were presented. Many works were available for purchase throughout the weekend of Auburn CityFest.
Winners of this year's Juried Art Show include Kyungmin Park and Frank Uhlig, each the receipient of a $250 Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau Best of Show Award for their outstanding pieces. Winners of the Auburn Arts Association Merit Awards include: Kyle Braund, Rebecca Campomanes, Karen Lindved Chittom, June Corley, Kathy Fourier, Cecile Morgan, Margee Bright Ragland, Conrad Ross, and Ty Smith.
The Auburn CityFest Juried Art Show and Preview Reception is held annually in conjunction with Auburn CityFest. The City of Auburn would like to thank the Auburn Arts Association, Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau, and Earth Fare for their continued sponsorship of this event.
