Auburn, Ala. - Calling all dog lovers! Auburn Parks and Recreation will host Bark in the Park, celebrating responsible dog ownership, on Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. - noon at Kiesel Park. This FREE community event is open to all dog owners and their favorite four-legged friends. Visit a variety of educational booths, shop with local pet vendors, catch a flyball demonstration, enjoy dog-related arts and crafts projects, and much more.
This year's Bark in the Park will feature on-site, low cost rabies vaccinations as well as a microchipping tent. Bring your wallet and be prepared to shop for one-of-a-kind items for your dog - including t-shirts, collars, artwork, and more. Come decorate dog cookies at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center tent and enjoy FREE bandana tie dying and "Pupcasso" painting for your dog. Many vendors will offer free giveaways such as pet food samples, Frisbees, and tips on keeping your pet happy and healthy. Check in at the gates to find out how you can register for our FREE door prize drawings, including a family/dog photography session, gift cards from local pet vendors, and more!
Looking to expand your canine family? Rescue dogs will be available for adoption from For Paws Rescue and the Lee County Humane Society. Proceeds from adoptions benefit rescue efforts and operations.
Bring your friends, both two-legged and four-legged, and join us for a morning of fun in the park! For more information, visit www.auburnalabama.org/parks or contact Auburn Parks and Recreation at 501-2930.
