Auburn, Ala. - Due to predicted inclement weather, the Auburn Rotary Club's annual Hickory Dickory Park spring maintenance has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 5 from sunrise until work is completed around noon. Club members will be adding new mulch and treating the playground equipment as part of their work day. The park will be closed to the public during maintenance. Instead, park patrons are encouraged to visit Auburn Parks and Recreation's Bark in the Park event Saturday morning.
Auburn Parks and Recreation would like to express its appreciation to the Auburn Rotary Club for their commitment to maintaining Hickory Dickory Park for over 15 years. The club has adopted the park as one of its annual service projects and devotes a large portion of its service hours to special projects at the park.
Hickory Dickory Park is Auburn's largest playground. Built as a community project, the playground has been one of Auburn's favorite play destinations for over 15 years. A number of Auburn parks feature playgrounds in addition to Hickory Dickory Park, including Felton Little Park, Town Creek Park, Sam Harris Park, Martin Luther King Park, and Duck Samford Park. Citizens are encouraged to visit these playgrounds while Hickory Dickory is closed for maintenance or bring their favorite four-legged friends to Bark in the Park.
