Auburn, Ala. - The City of Auburn Department of Public Safety is still accepting applications for the 2015 Citizens’ Public Safety Academy. The program, which begins May 14, is designed to educate citizens on the role of public safety in the community. Participants will meet on Thursdays from 6:30 to 9 p.m. with a graduation session on July 1. Two “hands-on” Saturday sessions will give participants the opportunity to shoot a variety of weapons at the police range, learn how to extinguish a fire, and become certified in CPR.
All Auburn residents, ages 18 and older, are encouraged to apply for the academy and gain a hands on knowledge of all aspects of Auburn Public Safety.
