City of Villages: Appendix B: The Formulation of a Strategic Development Concept The following maps graphically characterize the emergence of the Strategic Development Concept. The first few maps represent Auburn’s existing condition—the core village and its neighborhoods, parks and open space, and transportation systems—then account for future growth and development outside that core, leading to a Strategic Development Concept that builds on the success of the core, focusing future development into complimentary villages linked by multiple types of transportation systems, all of which work to enhance the heart and character of the Auburn community. A full appreciation of this concept for a City of Villages is best gained through a live presentation and explanation of all the information that led to its development, but is included as an appendix for those not able to see that presentation.
